You would not believe how many people I have recently spoken with that have opened up and shared with me about what the Lord has been stirring in their spirit! They get so excited just talking about the thought of it; with the very next breath they say, “But I’m still waiting on the Lord.”
My question is why?
Embarrassingly, I have said those same words for the past 15 years; wondering when my turn will come. The truth is, the Lord has been waiting on me! He has been waiting on me to trust Him enough to step out into the deep water of the unknown. In all honesty, I have never known where to begin; until one day, I just started doing what I could, right where I was at.
We all are human and make mistakes. Yet, the Lord still chooses to couple with his imperfect creation, none-the-less. So, let us tear down the spirit of perfectionism and trust the Lord to walk us into the unknown. The enemy would like nothing more than to keep you down and drive you as far away from using your God-given giftings.
Why? Because he knows that when you are walking in your giftings, you start to come to life; full of zeal and passion!
Here is a loving word for some of you in this situation, “Delayed obedience is disobedience!”
If God had intended for you to start at a later time, He would have stirred your Spirit at a later time. But He didn’t. He stirred your spirit to get you moving in that direction, NOW!
Hebrew 11:6 states, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
If that be true, and we know that the Word is true, then why do we think that God would supply the blue prints to us for His plan, all at once? Why wouldn’t He want to bless us by teaching us to exercise our faith? After all, that is what pleases Him the most.
Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” All that we need to know is hidden as treasure in the Word: “The Word of God is alive and active…” Hebrew 4:12
If the Word of God is a light unto our paths and alive and active then what do we have to fear? If when we are stirred to speak out, teach or begin a new ministry, and all we seem to do is focus on fear of the unknown, then the enemy is free to steal the seed of faith that the Lord is trying to mature within us.
On the other hand, if we lay the plans for our success at the feet of Jesus and humbly obey–knowing that it is the Lord’s idea in the first place, then we must trust that He has already seen the finished product. The Lord will give us insight on a need to know basis. He desires for us to come to Him and spend quality time with Him.
I implore you that If the Lord has stirred your spirit; do what you can do today, believing that He will show you as you step out in faith, what is to be done tomorrow. Until then, rest in the knowledge that He is with you, leading and guiding you through every phase.
Each day that you make a forward motion, the sooner the vision becomes a reality.
In my opinion, no one stated it better than St. Francis of Assisi when he said, “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
Today is the day, do not delay!!!
Lord Jesus, have your way in us and through us. Thank you, Holy Spirit for stirring us to launch out into the deep waters of faith. Please help us walk-out your plans for us so that we can be light in this dark world. Please teach us as daring daughters to sit at your feet and spend one-on-one time with you. We pray that you give us ears to hear your voice even more clearly, eyes of revelation to see you, and a heart of unhindered obedience. We pray for your perfect timing as we trust you to lead us into your divine will for our lives. We pray this in the beautiful name of Jesus, Amen!
